Neev: An AI-Enabled Cloud- and Smartphone-Based Learning Platform for Community Health

Context & Background

Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) are frontline health workers in India. While they are critical in reducing child mortality, they often lack proper training due to remote settings and poor infrastructure. Traditional training requires health workers to travel, which is expensive and slow.

Problems to be Addressed

There are no scalable, digital, and offline-first training platforms that can provide continuous education to low-literate community health workers. Assessing ASHA workers' field performance is difficult due to manual reporting.

Aims and Objectives

1. Develop Neev, a mobile app and cloud middleware for health workers.
2. Support localized training, real-time clinical guidelines, and AI chatbots.
3. Create a feedback portal for mothers to validate health services.

Methodology

Neev implements a cloud middleware platform that manages learning materials and serves personalized training modules. The mobile app supports offline video content, voice-based AI chatbots, and assessment quizzes. Deployments are tested with 1000 health workers in partnership with NGO SWACH.

Expected Outcomes

The Neev mobile app, integration with public health databases, and deployment validation with clinical partners (SWACH).
